How to Look Good Without Make-up

This post will be about something close to my heart, make-up - but also- no make-up.

So this will not really be about a magic beautysecret that will make you perfectly pretty without make-up. (sorry!)

This is my secret about how to look good without make-up. I apologize for the upcoming wall of text.

I started using make-up in highschool (pretty late for the standard girl I guess) But as the years pass, my bag of make-up is just getting bigger and bigger, and my interest for it has increased a bunch. I mean who doesn't like make-up really? So many possibilities!
I can look forward to days where I know I'm going to doll myself up a little extra, like when I'm going to see my darling or going out somewhere with friends.

But, the reason I have so much fun and think it's such a big deal when I spend time putting make-up on, is because I so rarely do it. And whatever you dudes think, girls don't use it everyday. Especially not me (bc I'm lazy and I like to be comfortable qwq).

But back to the subject of this post. I've always been scared to use make-up, especially on a regular basis. Why? Because I've been scared to feel ugly without it.
Because you see, girls, the reason you feel unpretty without make-up, is not because you are but because you THINK you are. Your eyes get used to what it sees every day.
I feel sad when I think about all these beautiful girls who don't think they can walk outside without spending hours in front of the mirror. Feeling like you're not good enough in your natural state is a sad feeling.
We all have days we feel a little more comfortable, maybe a sunday afternoon in front of the TV and a pizza on your lap .. hey, those days are awesome! And everyone deserves those days without feeling like they are unattractive in that state.
Girl, you should walk around in those sweat pants and feel sexy as hell!

So my point is, the problem is not your face, it's your attitude.

Don't get me wrong please, I love make-up and I would never tell a girl to stop using it or suggest that someone who uses make-up is not comfortable in her/himself. Make-up is FUN. And it's nice to feel a little extra cute sometimes. I'm just saying that you shouldn't feel like you need it.
I want every girl in the world to wake up in the morning, look herself in the mirror and say "Damn, I'm sexy". Because she is. And she deserves to know and to feel it.

I know it's hard to get out of this make-up circle, and I'm not saying to quit but to reduce the amount and just slowly get used to your naked face. Practise in front of the mirror and compliment yourself, you've heard this before. And imo(!), the key to confidence is to fake it. In the end, you'll even fool yourself. Faking a good confidence is not wrong, it will help you on the way to real genuine confidence. It's the same with happiness. Fake it till you make it, I say.

This topic came to me during my month of allergies (which I talked about in the post before this one) and I walked around make-up free for a month, not to irritate my already red itchy eyes.

I also took a few pictures (minimum editing, no cheating here!) of myself without make-up. I wouldn't talk this much about being confident in your make-up free face if I couldn't back it up right?
I hope these will encourage and inspire you to get used to your natural beauty and feel beautiful no matter what.

Yes my eyes are a bit red because of allergies and stuff :'3 sorry if these pictures scared you huehue

So stop looking away from the mirror, embrace your natural beauty and your confidence will shine through and everyone will see exactly what you see. That you're beautiful.

How to find the clothes you want online

I think we've all been there. You see a picture or a photo online, there's a shirt, dress, jewellery or maybe a pair of shoes you want. But! You have no idea where this item was bought and no idea of where it could be either. Then I've got the solution for you!

how to find the clothes I want online

The Hunt

This must be one of my favorite sites and I use it on a regular basis to find the clothes I'm looking for. It's helped me a lot and now I wanted to share my secret with you!

It's actually very simple. There are two ways of using this site to find where to buy your item.

  1. You make an account and you start a "hunt". All you need to do is use the picture where the item is shown, make a good title and tag it with relevant keywords. You may choose alternatives as "This exactly", "similar to this" and even things like "what goes with this" and "style me"!
  2. You use the searchbar by typing in keywords that describe your item. If you don't find it the first time, just search again using different tags. People might describe the item differently than you would.
If you find your item and there are no finds for it yet, just follow the hunt and you will be noted when a find comes up!
This site isn't only used for finding items, some people use it to search for exercising tips, books, movies and some people even wants to get help styling themselves

I really love this site, not only because it's easier to find the things that I want, but for windowshopping too! Sometimes I go there not knowing what I want and I quickly find something interesting ~

Brush for Smokey Eyes

I've had a thing for smokey eyes for a long time, but having it can really draw attention to you which I can be uncomfortable with at times.. ' weird, huh, with my odd style and all ^.^' but sometimes I just can't be bothered by people staring at me too much when I go outside..  So I end up only wearing smokey eyes on photoshoots.

I didn't have time for a face or outfit picture since I was in a hurry to pick up my boy from the busstation ~  I'd love to have smokey eyes more often >.< after all it's not that time consuming when using the right tools!

The brush I use for smokey eyes:

It's called Blending Brush 180 by Make Up Store, which is my favorite store when it comes to makeup brushes overall.

The eyeshadow I use for smokey eyes:

Stargazer. I like this eyeshadow since it's a matte kind of black, though I think it kind of crumbles a bit and falls on my cheeks when I apply it.. I'd like to try another brand soon, and when I do it will probably be Sugarpill!

Japanese Candy! ~ Saigon City – Asian food and drinks!

(Psst! Tip below)

I was really really happy when I found out they opened a very fancy store/café with asian groceries in Nordstan, Gothenburg! I'm rarely out shopping and I have no idea for how long it's been there but I'm guessing it's fairly new and I was very surprised to see such an high class store with asian foods! Such stores are usually hidden in corners of big cities and you have to walk a long way to get there ^.^' this is so close to home, I can just take a buss and I'm there! So awesome~ I have a feeling I'm gonna get chubby soon T.T'

But enough about that! I was going to take pictures of all the Pocky and Panda candies I bought in that particular store but .. unfortunately, I already ate it all D8 *slomp*

But!! Two weeks ago I ordered some candy from this site called Jlist.com (before I had found the one in Nordstan) Thanks, Sandra, for the tip <3

How To Apply Eyeliner (Or How I Do It)

How to apply eyeliner aka how I apply eyeliner.

Important thing to remember is that there are A LOT of ways to put on eyeliner but what I will show now is a simple guide of how to apply the most wanted winged cateye eyeliner.

This is the one I use for everyday since it's so simple and can be both used in an alternative Emo/Scene way and in an elegant, more sofisticated way.

how to apply eyeliner guide tutorial
Picture found on Google

Eyeliner tutorial:

  • Follow your natural undereye-shape to make a straight line upwards. In other words, follow the angle of the outer corner of your eye.
  • Draw a line from your eye to your already drawn line, a bit higher than half way up so it leaves a thin line at the end. Do NOT try to make the ends meet if you don't want a thick end of your eyeliner.
  • Draw a line from the innercorner of your eye and make it meet the middle of the second like you made.
  • Fill in your pattern, be careful not to go too far out when filling the wing!
And now you're done!

Thanks to this guide, I can make a successful and easy cateye everytime.

I'm very thankful for this m(-__-)m

How to make your nails grow faster with oliveoil

Like a lot of girls out there, I don't have too much patience with my nails and I try to take care of myself as much as I can by eating and sleeping right so that my hair and nails will grow out strong and healthy (and ofcourse for the other health benefits!) ^.^'

Here's a really great tip that you can find all over the internet really! A lot of people has noticed positive effects of this and I'm no exception myself.

So if you want to know how to make your nails grow faster and stronger, keep reading!

All you need is...

All you need to do is pour oliveoil into a small plasticbag or a bowl, so much that you know it will cover your fingertips, and then add a "generous" amount of salt. It will sink to the bottom but just dig your nails in there! Keep your nails in the mix for 15 minutes, relax, watch an episode of your favorite series, then remove and wash off with tepid water.

how to make your nails grow faster stronger

I personally prefer using a plasticbag because I feel I can relax my hand more than if they are in a bowl (sometimes I even use a rubberband around my wrist so the bag will be stuck there). I don't know what you think but keeping your fingertips in a bowl for 15 minutes is kind of tiring ^.^'
By using a plasticbag you will also avoid making an oily mess and it's easier to make sure your nails are getting soaked.

how to make your nails grow faster stronger

Do this as often as you want but most people just do it once a week, including me!

Good luck! =^.^=

How To Make 2 in 1 Makeup Brush Tip

If you're like me, trying to save your money as long and much as you can, but still want to be able to have a decent makeup from time to time.. you'd find great use for this tip that I actually came up on my own!
Not sure if anyone else did it before me but oh well.. ^.^'

When making an order of shampoo and conditioner, I got a brush set with a few budget brushes with it. I was happy because I didn't have a lot of makeup brushes since they are usually quite expensive.

But ofcourse, out of all of my new brushes there was none in the size I wanted >.< I needed a medium sized one to make shadows on my eyelids, smokey eyes and so on... so I came up with this really simple idea.
So just scroll to see how to turn your bigger makeup brushes into smaller ones ^__^ this is what I do!

How to turn a big makeup brush into a small one

makeup brush smokey eyes tipTiny rubberbands. My boyfriend got these when he had braces. His dentist gave him tons that he never used up so he gave me the rest to put at the ends of my braids and so on ^__^ but apparently you can use them for a lot of other things!
They have started to sell these but as ordinary rubber bands for hair so you can probably find them in your local grocery store! Look for them in the shelfs with buckles, combs and so on ~

makeup brush smokey eyes tip
Take the brush you find too big and roll the rubber band from the bottom up so you get a hold of all of the strands! emo makeup tutorial

If you need it even smaller, just roll it up a little further!

Hope this tip was useful  ^-^

Dry Hair: My Products! ☆ ( + tips on how to use )

I don't know why but in my case, my hair is very very dryyy .. and I realised it when it was almost too late =w=' Since I went on vacation I've done a lot of things to try to get my hair back on track again!

For now, it seems to be working ~ So I thought I'd share what I use for others with the same problem, how to deal with dry and frizzy hair!

Psst! See how dry and frizzy me hair is in this pic? Disaster D8

dry hair tips

shampoo and conditioner for dry hair

  • First of all, I've started to use the Garnier Respons series with Avocado Oil and Shea Butter ingredients that are famous for adding moisture and softness to dry hair. Perfect for me!

Review:

The other shampoos and conditioners before these ones, used to leave my hair tangled when I got out of the shower. I realised I haven't been feeling the soft silky feeling of my hair in the shower for a really long time.. years. But with this conditioner, I felt it from the first time I used it! It left my hair feeling soft and silky when I got out of the shower, and guess what! I could run my fingers through my hair. NO TANGLING WHATSOEVER. I also really believe in avocado oil and I know for sure it gives moisture to my hair!
Lovely smell too! ^^

hydrating hair mask for dry hair

  • Moroccanoil intense hydrating mask: The name says it all. Intense hydrating and you can feel it to the max. Have it on for 30 minutes with a warm towel around your head and you get mega hydration of doom. Your hair will thank you for this...

 Review:

It's expensive and if you have thick hair, it will run out very very soon. BUT! If you can order a cheap one, this is a product totally worth the bargain. If you want something that works, you will have to give up a little cashmoney, honey.
But remember, if you want to get the most out of this product, have it on for 30 minutes (not more, not less, because after 30 minutes your hair is "full" and won't take up more of the mask. Leave it on more and your hair will get "overhydrated" and very prone to breakage. Compare it to having your nails in water for too long.) Put a towel in the microwave for a bit and wrap it around your hair to make it suck up more of the hydrating goodness ~

4,5/5 (because of the price)

For now, I can't say much of the Aussie product more than the fact that many have said good things about it and I will make sure to try it out soon!

Hope this helped a bit!

My Psychic - curious of your future?

I just wanted to tip about a really good fortuneteller/psychic that I really want to recommend :3

I guess I am sort of a believer of the spiritual but she's very famous in Sweden for being accurate and has turned a lot of sceptics around ~ She's helped me a lot with things I've been worried about...

She can help you find things you've lost, tell you about your soulmate, tell you what kind of occupation that you're best suited for and the list goes on...

Here's the link to her blog, where she puts up her predictions--> Eva the Psychic
I really enjoy reading what she predicts for others, it's so facinating!

So if you have trouble, you know who to ask ^__^

Vaseline Tips

I'm in love with my vaseline =w= It's so useful to me in so many different ways! Like...

how to use vaseline tips

 For my lashes

Yes, especially when I've used mascara, my eyelashes fall off so easily since they get dry and worn out.. So I make sure to put vaseline on them right after removing my eyemakeup and going to bed.
This is also a good way to make your eyelashes grow long!

So you do this:

  • Use a Q-tip, your finger or maybe a disposable mascara brush
  • Dip it in the vaseline and draw it under your lashes (be careful not to get it in your eye! >.<')
  • Draw it along your lashline (above your lashes)
  • And finally draw it through your lower lashes
  • Sleep ~
  • Remove the rest of the vaseline (if there is any, I usually end up with nothing in the morning ^^')
  • Enjoy your moisturized, healthy (and probably longer, thicker after a while) lashes! ~

beautiful long eyelashes

 When dying my hair

How to avoid hairdye on your skin while dying your hair? This is the best answer! I litterally adore this tip, since I love it when my hair is just-dyed, I hate it when it's ruined by black spots on your face and ears.. And I tell ya, black hairdye.... not so easy to remove.

 So you do this:

  • Put a (not too thick) layer of vaseline along your hairline
  • on your ears
  • and in the back of your neck
  • When you're finished putting the dye in your hair, just use a cottonpad or a tissue to remove the vaseline... and there goes the hairdye with it! Super simple!

 When painting my nails

Are you like me, a little bit shaky when applying nailpolish? Believe me, it happens a lot!
If you have the habit of getting nailpolish on your cuticles and on the sides of your nails, this is the tip for you!

So you do this:

  • Use a Q-tip (gotta love those) dip it in vaseline
  • draw the Q-tip along your cuticles and around your nails (make sure not to leave any vaseline on your nail because it will make the polish not stick to it!) This is also a good way to moisturize your cuticles!
  • Paint your nails as usual
  • Use a clean Q-tip and drag around your nails, removing the vaseline and the polish outside of your nail with it!

A lot of people also use vaseline for their lips, as a lipbalm but also as a lipscrub (vaseline + sugar)! I have not tried this but it's an idea ^^ I use a supergood lipbalm already, that I litterally can't live without since my lips get dry so easily... (unfortunally, I think you can only buy this in the swedish drugstore at the moment but I will keep my eyes open)!

Hope these tips were useful!

Fun Giftwrapping!

One thing I really love about giving away gifts are making them fun and personal! I try to come up with different kinds of wrappings and small surprises when I give away something for a special person..

Because the reaction of the reciever is the best thing about giving away gifts, right?? ^^

I'm usually a person who plans things like this really far ahead but this time I had to sit for a while with a random wrapping and pencil in hand.....

Gifts for my boyfriend's birthday <3

I ended up with this! An  Alice in Wonderland inspired giftwrapping ~
I used the concept of the cookies and bottles in the story to cover the giftcards I had taped to the wrapping, making them a little more interesting and exciting!

I sure do weird things sometimes.. @w@

Volume UP !

Soo, I haven't made an update for a while and that is because I've been superbusy and well... also because of a little lack of inspiration and confidence.. but I'm getting back on track! :>

So the other day I just made this, for me, huuge discovery! Which I am sure everybody knows by now but it sure took me by surprise!

I've been using this so called volume powder for a while, since I'm a bit obsessed with volume in my hair, and I really liked the results! My hair did get volume and it could stay like that for days ... except the fact that it made my hair feel rough and almost dirty looking so it forced me to wash it more often than I want to..it also left this weird unpleasant smell you had to get used to, not to mention how hard it was to brush with it in and your hair needs to be brushed to look and feel it's best, right?

 Volume Powder:
made to put around scalp for volume and mattification of the hair.

Despite knowing this, I went to the store to buy some more of this powder and the seller responsed with:

- Ah, yes I will show you were our dry shampoos are ~
- ... No, I have that already, I need volume powder.
- Oh, that's the same thing.
- ... eh? o.o;

So uh, apparently, nowadays, people use dry shampoo instead of the volume powder and it works just fine.
I left the store in a very sceptical mode but also eager to try this out with the product that's been standing on my shelf for a year...

Dry shampoo:
Makes the hair look washed and can give volume when spraying around scalp.

This is the kind I'm using and I tried it for volume right away. Guess what.
It works, and I will post a picture of me after I've used it too as soon as I can.

I know this might be old news for a lot of people but for me it's a totally different story!
Now I have a whole bottle of volumy goodness to use up!

I really like this because:
  • This doesn't smell!
  • It doesn't leave your hair in a horrible rough-looking state the day after
  • It won't be in the way of your brush and wont damage your hair as much as hairspray
  • It doesn't leave your hands all smelly and powdery
  • Instead of making your hair looking dirty it leaves it looking like you just washed it!

The sales-person in the butique showed me the ones they were selling (and they were now selling them mainly for volume-cause and stopped selling the powder!), and she told me they had alternatives for
  • different haircolors
  • different smells desired
  • and for those who wants extra extra volume!

I don't even know which one I'll go for when I've used up mine but it will probably be one of the ones she showed me...  *picture below*

Batiste dry shampoo: three of the many alternatives,
with different smells, for different haircolors and amount of volume!

I hope this is news for at least some people out there and that this has made you as excited as it made me! ^.^ Volume UP!
