Blond Emo Girl Look

Sorry for the lame title ~ Last weekend I went out with a friend to see Dracula Untold and I took the opportunity to "dress up" a bit, since I rarely do that on weekdays. Tired from work and everything q.q' I just don't see any point with wearing make-up at work! My hair and skin get all dusty anyways..

So I took a FEW pictures of my blonde wig ^__^ I mixed it with black clip-ons to make it a little more alternative ~ along with extremely smudged eyes!

I might post more pictures of this look if it's appreciated, we'll see I guess? c:

Detangling Hairbrush - Tangle Teezer by Salong Elite!

So I went shopping yesterday and one of the things on my list was to get a wide toothed comb to use in my conditioning rutine.
Since your hair is more prone to breakage when it's wet, I never brush it before it's completely dried. But when I deepcondition my hair I want to comb/brush through it to make sure the conditioner reaches every single strand. No waste of conditioner here! emo scene girl blog
So I thought of getting a wide toothed comb since it's said to be more gentle with your hair when it's wet.

Even though my head was set for a cheap budget comb, I left the store with this...

Tangle Teezer Salong Elite

Apparently, this brush is a 2 in 1, since you can use it on both wet and dry hair. The store lady said that it's even gentler than a wide toothed comb since the big teeth on the comb will rip your hair if it gets stuck in a tangle.
Meanwhile, this brush has both short and long spikes so it works itself down into the hair softly, without damaging or getting stuck in your tangles.

The store had them in so many colors, I almost went with a purple one but I ended up with this one. It's just so bright and colorful! ~ I liked the black one too but (even thought it might look gross) I want to be able to see how much hair gets stuck in the brush so I can control my hairloss. For example, if I see that my brush gets full of hair in just one brushing, I think over my diet and so on to see if I can change anything to strenghten my hair from within and prevent it.

When I got home, my hair was all messy from a long day, I tried the brush right away! Without any pulling, I brushed my hair slowly, letting the spikes work their way into my hair at their own pace.
It left my hair soft, with no frizzyness! And that's always been a problem for me when brushing my hair, it get's a bit frizzy, electric and hard to handle. I couldn't stop working my fingers through my newly brushed hair. It felt just amazing

I can't wait to try this on wet hair combined with a good conditioner!

My Hairdying Fail

So my original plan was to go from complete black hair till purple fringe and purple ombre (since I luv purple =^.^=) buut after two attempts of bleaching my hair it just turned some kind of strawberry blonde that the purple wouldn't stick to... so the end result was a magic purple/blue/pink/red/black that would show in different lighting! "Cool" would some say, sure D: pretty annoying for me though!

emo scene girl ombre

emo hair purple ombreMore or less what I was going for but that's just the camera on my phone *cry*

So I went to the hairdresser and bleached it a THIRD time, only to find out (to mine and the hairdressers surprise) my hair won't accept any kind of color at all. It just rejects it ALL. It won't suck in the color, it just lays on my strands and leaves this weak uneven color. So after paying $125, I left the salong with a slightly more bluish purple like I wanted. But that's it.

Apparently, the black "conditioner" I already had in my hair, is repelling any other color, no matter how much I bleach it, while my natural haircolor (like my grown roots) would turn almost white with one bleaching only. Wat is dis I don't even...

So now I'm left with very very worn out hair that I need to spamm nourishment to before I completely freakout QAQ' <--person that is extremely caring for her hair

Good luck to me!

How I would look with blonde hair

In a few of the pictures in the studio I wanted to try out how I would look as a blonde, not really expecting much because of my harsh bone structure ^.^' but some of them actually turned out really well!

Anyways here are one of the backstage pictures with me as a blonde.

It was interesting (and weird) having a blonde wig on for the first time ^w^' but it's a big change and since my hair and bleach apparently don't get along very well (considering what happened recently) I will probably never be a complete blonde. But hey, that's what wigs are for right?

Dry Hair: My Products! ☆ ( + tips on how to use )

I don't know why but in my case, my hair is very very dryyy .. and I realised it when it was almost too late =w=' Since I went on vacation I've done a lot of things to try to get my hair back on track again!

For now, it seems to be working ~ So I thought I'd share what I use for others with the same problem, how to deal with dry and frizzy hair!

Psst! See how dry and frizzy me hair is in this pic? Disaster D8

dry hair tips

shampoo and conditioner for dry hair

  • First of all, I've started to use the Garnier Respons series with Avocado Oil and Shea Butter ingredients that are famous for adding moisture and softness to dry hair. Perfect for me!

Review:

The other shampoos and conditioners before these ones, used to leave my hair tangled when I got out of the shower. I realised I haven't been feeling the soft silky feeling of my hair in the shower for a really long time.. years. But with this conditioner, I felt it from the first time I used it! It left my hair feeling soft and silky when I got out of the shower, and guess what! I could run my fingers through my hair. NO TANGLING WHATSOEVER. I also really believe in avocado oil and I know for sure it gives moisture to my hair!
Lovely smell too! ^^

hydrating hair mask for dry hair

  • Moroccanoil intense hydrating mask: The name says it all. Intense hydrating and you can feel it to the max. Have it on for 30 minutes with a warm towel around your head and you get mega hydration of doom. Your hair will thank you for this...

 Review:

It's expensive and if you have thick hair, it will run out very very soon. BUT! If you can order a cheap one, this is a product totally worth the bargain. If you want something that works, you will have to give up a little cashmoney, honey.
But remember, if you want to get the most out of this product, have it on for 30 minutes (not more, not less, because after 30 minutes your hair is "full" and won't take up more of the mask. Leave it on more and your hair will get "overhydrated" and very prone to breakage. Compare it to having your nails in water for too long.) Put a towel in the microwave for a bit and wrap it around your hair to make it suck up more of the hydrating goodness ~

4,5/5 (because of the price)

For now, I can't say much of the Aussie product more than the fact that many have said good things about it and I will make sure to try it out soon!

Hope this helped a bit!

Triangular hairpin idea!

Interesting way of using your hairpins! I actually never thought of this ^^
I wanna try this with different kinds of hairpins, like with studs on them!--> studded hairpins
Maybe you can take it to the next level by making a triforce? haha

Hair change

So I've booked an evening (when I'm back from Paraguay) with my 'personal hairdresser' and decided what to do with my hair.. I've wanted a change for a long time now, and I've finally gathered the courage to try a little color in my hair ^.^'

I've been all black hair for about three years now and I feel like it's time for me to try my own boundaries! Since I'm really comfortable with black hair, I'm sure I'll return to it quickly enough.. but since it's so easy to go from any color to plain black, I shouldn't be too scared of trying other colors.

My hair has been very very DRY for a long time now and since I bought new products to fix this I decided to cut it to save some product and get rid of the dry ends....

with this shorter cut, I think it would be cute with some color aswell :3 BUT! I won't tell you yet what I'm going to do! *teehee*

This summer, I want to try other colors aswell! I've always wanned to try being a redhead for once ~ but before that I'm going to be black haired again for my Snow White shoot with Saica :3 woop! Look forward to that!

A bad picture of me in my purple wig:

Volume UP !

Soo, I haven't made an update for a while and that is because I've been superbusy and well... also because of a little lack of inspiration and confidence.. but I'm getting back on track! :>

So the other day I just made this, for me, huuge discovery! Which I am sure everybody knows by now but it sure took me by surprise!

I've been using this so called volume powder for a while, since I'm a bit obsessed with volume in my hair, and I really liked the results! My hair did get volume and it could stay like that for days ... except the fact that it made my hair feel rough and almost dirty looking so it forced me to wash it more often than I want to..it also left this weird unpleasant smell you had to get used to, not to mention how hard it was to brush with it in and your hair needs to be brushed to look and feel it's best, right?

 Volume Powder:
made to put around scalp for volume and mattification of the hair.

Despite knowing this, I went to the store to buy some more of this powder and the seller responsed with:

- Ah, yes I will show you were our dry shampoos are ~
- ... No, I have that already, I need volume powder.
- Oh, that's the same thing.
- ... eh? o.o;

So uh, apparently, nowadays, people use dry shampoo instead of the volume powder and it works just fine.
I left the store in a very sceptical mode but also eager to try this out with the product that's been standing on my shelf for a year...

Dry shampoo:
Makes the hair look washed and can give volume when spraying around scalp.

This is the kind I'm using and I tried it for volume right away. Guess what.
It works, and I will post a picture of me after I've used it too as soon as I can.

I know this might be old news for a lot of people but for me it's a totally different story!
Now I have a whole bottle of volumy goodness to use up!

I really like this because:
  • This doesn't smell!
  • It doesn't leave your hair in a horrible rough-looking state the day after
  • It won't be in the way of your brush and wont damage your hair as much as hairspray
  • It doesn't leave your hands all smelly and powdery
  • Instead of making your hair looking dirty it leaves it looking like you just washed it!

The sales-person in the butique showed me the ones they were selling (and they were now selling them mainly for volume-cause and stopped selling the powder!), and she told me they had alternatives for
  • different haircolors
  • different smells desired
  • and for those who wants extra extra volume!

I don't even know which one I'll go for when I've used up mine but it will probably be one of the ones she showed me...  *picture below*

Batiste dry shampoo: three of the many alternatives,
with different smells, for different haircolors and amount of volume!

I hope this is news for at least some people out there and that this has made you as excited as it made me! ^.^ Volume UP!

Bad-hair/Dance~

I'm starting to wonder if a so called "bad hairday" really excists.. you know.. when your hair has no reason to look horrible but it just does? On those days, it doesn't matter what I do with my hair.
I usually just give up and avoid mirrors for the rest of the day ........

On these days, I swear my hair's got a life of its own ...

And guess what? I'm out of hairspray too! *whoopie~*

One thing kinda sucks less though.. my dance-classes start today ~
Let's see how I manage 6 classes instead of 5 this semester... it'll be hard work but I kinda like it that way!

Speaking of dancing, if you haven't seen this video, you really should.
It's my obsession of the month kindof  ^w^' ~

I really want to learn this dance, it looks like so much fun <3

Then I'm off ~
