Detangling Hairbrush - Tangle Teezer by Salong Elite!

So I went shopping yesterday and one of the things on my list was to get a wide toothed comb to use in my conditioning rutine.
Since your hair is more prone to breakage when it's wet, I never brush it before it's completely dried. But when I deepcondition my hair I want to comb/brush through it to make sure the conditioner reaches every single strand. No waste of conditioner here! emo scene girl blog
So I thought of getting a wide toothed comb since it's said to be more gentle with your hair when it's wet.

Even though my head was set for a cheap budget comb, I left the store with this...

Tangle Teezer Salong Elite

Apparently, this brush is a 2 in 1, since you can use it on both wet and dry hair. The store lady said that it's even gentler than a wide toothed comb since the big teeth on the comb will rip your hair if it gets stuck in a tangle.
Meanwhile, this brush has both short and long spikes so it works itself down into the hair softly, without damaging or getting stuck in your tangles.

The store had them in so many colors, I almost went with a purple one but I ended up with this one. It's just so bright and colorful! ~ I liked the black one too but (even thought it might look gross) I want to be able to see how much hair gets stuck in the brush so I can control my hairloss. For example, if I see that my brush gets full of hair in just one brushing, I think over my diet and so on to see if I can change anything to strenghten my hair from within and prevent it.

When I got home, my hair was all messy from a long day, I tried the brush right away! Without any pulling, I brushed my hair slowly, letting the spikes work their way into my hair at their own pace.
It left my hair soft, with no frizzyness! And that's always been a problem for me when brushing my hair, it get's a bit frizzy, electric and hard to handle. I couldn't stop working my fingers through my newly brushed hair. It felt just amazing

I can't wait to try this on wet hair combined with a good conditioner!

How to make your nails grow faster with oliveoil

Like a lot of girls out there, I don't have too much patience with my nails and I try to take care of myself as much as I can by eating and sleeping right so that my hair and nails will grow out strong and healthy (and ofcourse for the other health benefits!) ^.^'

Here's a really great tip that you can find all over the internet really! A lot of people has noticed positive effects of this and I'm no exception myself.

So if you want to know how to make your nails grow faster and stronger, keep reading!

All you need is...

All you need to do is pour oliveoil into a small plasticbag or a bowl, so much that you know it will cover your fingertips, and then add a "generous" amount of salt. It will sink to the bottom but just dig your nails in there! Keep your nails in the mix for 15 minutes, relax, watch an episode of your favorite series, then remove and wash off with tepid water.

I personally prefer using a plasticbag because I feel I can relax my hand more than if they are in a bowl (sometimes I even use a rubberband around my wrist so the bag will be stuck there). I don't know what you think but keeping your fingertips in a bowl for 15 minutes is kind of tiring ^.^'
By using a plasticbag you will also avoid making an oily mess and it's easier to make sure your nails are getting soaked.

Do this as often as you want but most people just do it once a week, including me!

Good luck! =^.^=

Dry Hair: My Products! ☆ ( + tips on how to use )

I don't know why but in my case, my hair is very very dryyy .. and I realised it when it was almost too late =w=' Since I went on vacation I've done a lot of things to try to get my hair back on track again!

For now, it seems to be working ~ So I thought I'd share what I use for others with the same problem, how to deal with dry and frizzy hair!

Psst! See how dry and frizzy me hair is in this pic? Disaster D8

dry hair tips

shampoo and conditioner for dry hair

  • First of all, I've started to use the Garnier Respons series with Avocado Oil and Shea Butter ingredients that are famous for adding moisture and softness to dry hair. Perfect for me!

Review:

The other shampoos and conditioners before these ones, used to leave my hair tangled when I got out of the shower. I realised I haven't been feeling the soft silky feeling of my hair in the shower for a really long time.. years. But with this conditioner, I felt it from the first time I used it! It left my hair feeling soft and silky when I got out of the shower, and guess what! I could run my fingers through my hair. NO TANGLING WHATSOEVER. I also really believe in avocado oil and I know for sure it gives moisture to my hair!
Lovely smell too! ^^

hydrating hair mask for dry hair

  • Moroccanoil intense hydrating mask: The name says it all. Intense hydrating and you can feel it to the max. Have it on for 30 minutes with a warm towel around your head and you get mega hydration of doom. Your hair will thank you for this...

 Review:

It's expensive and if you have thick hair, it will run out very very soon. BUT! If you can order a cheap one, this is a product totally worth the bargain. If you want something that works, you will have to give up a little cashmoney, honey.
But remember, if you want to get the most out of this product, have it on for 30 minutes (not more, not less, because after 30 minutes your hair is "full" and won't take up more of the mask. Leave it on more and your hair will get "overhydrated" and very prone to breakage. Compare it to having your nails in water for too long.) Put a towel in the microwave for a bit and wrap it around your hair to make it suck up more of the hydrating goodness ~

4,5/5 (because of the price)

For now, I can't say much of the Aussie product more than the fact that many have said good things about it and I will make sure to try it out soon!

Hope this helped a bit!

Vaseline Tips

I'm in love with my vaseline =w= It's so useful to me in so many different ways! Like...

how to use vaseline tips

 For my lashes

Yes, especially when I've used mascara, my eyelashes fall off so easily since they get dry and worn out.. So I make sure to put vaseline on them right after removing my eyemakeup and going to bed.
This is also a good way to make your eyelashes grow long!

So you do this:

  • Use a Q-tip, your finger or maybe a disposable mascara brush
  • Dip it in the vaseline and draw it under your lashes (be careful not to get it in your eye! >.<')
  • Draw it along your lashline (above your lashes)
  • And finally draw it through your lower lashes
  • Sleep ~
  • Remove the rest of the vaseline (if there is any, I usually end up with nothing in the morning ^^')
  • Enjoy your moisturized, healthy (and probably longer, thicker after a while) lashes! ~

 When dying my hair

How to avoid hairdye on your skin while dying your hair? This is the best answer! I litterally adore this tip, since I love it when my hair is just-dyed, I hate it when it's ruined by black spots on your face and ears.. And I tell ya, black hairdye.... not so easy to remove.

 So you do this:

  • Put a (not too thick) layer of vaseline along your hairline
  • on your ears
  • and in the back of your neck
  • When you're finished putting the dye in your hair, just use a cottonpad or a tissue to remove the vaseline... and there goes the hairdye with it! Super simple!

 When painting my nails

Are you like me, a little bit shaky when applying nailpolish? Believe me, it happens a lot!
If you have the habit of getting nailpolish on your cuticles and on the sides of your nails, this is the tip for you!

So you do this:

  • Use a Q-tip (gotta love those) dip it in vaseline
  • draw the Q-tip along your cuticles and around your nails (make sure not to leave any vaseline on your nail because it will make the polish not stick to it!) This is also a good way to moisturize your cuticles!
  • Paint your nails as usual
  • Use a clean Q-tip and drag around your nails, removing the vaseline and the polish outside of your nail with it!

A lot of people also use vaseline for their lips, as a lipbalm but also as a lipscrub (vaseline + sugar)! I have not tried this but it's an idea ^^ I use a supergood lipbalm already, that I litterally can't live without since my lips get dry so easily... (unfortunally, I think you can only buy this in the swedish drugstore at the moment but I will keep my eyes open)!

Hope these tips were useful!

Inspiration - You're beautiful

I really like this video... it's a good example of how people usually see the "negative" things in their looks while the people around them don't see it at all.

This video shows that we should appreciate our own beauty.
Because the only one who see the things you are not happy with, is you

Testing make-up

Is it only me who sometimes feel like trying out make-up in the middle of the night?
Excuse the bad quality QwQ cam pics are not always the best but it sure is convenient when you can't see a thing in your room or anywhere else, haha!

Oh, I almost forgot, I got a package today too!

CandyDoll Lipstick "Ramune Pink"

Ta-daah ~ Guess what, this is my first ever purchased CandyDoll product, so tbh I was not sure what to expect but I've been really excited about getting this ^-^

Cute design ~
(yes I'm wearing a fake nail because it broke two days ago :c sobsob)

Ooh, I just love the design of this <3 Can't help being excited about now owning a lipstick +.+ and yes, that is because I am aware that my lips does not look good with lipstick (I'm a lipgloss or nothing kind of person?) so I was a bit nervous.. =w=

Soo, the color is one I've been looking for for ages in regular stores but not yet found. Since my lips are a strange color, it's hard to find anything for them at all.. ' lol

PINK. I knew I would probably look rediculous with this color but I'm such a sucker for pink lips and ain't Masuwaka Tsubasa's lips just gorgeous? +.+ <3

I might make a proper review about this lipstick later since I was just gonna post pics of my random make-up right now... ofc I ended up with a longer post. *teehee*

SO PICS! (wearing le CandyDoll lipstick) ~

Uhm, so as I thought, I do not give this lipstick justice since I just look strange with lipstick (especially PINK). But it is exactly the color I was going for so for that, I'm glad ^-^

Too bad I look like a swedish "fjortis" though :c lol sobsob *cries in corner*

MAKE-UP:

This is the so called "puppy-look" where I highlight and fake a pair of 'bags' under my eyes which I've envied some people for having since forever. <3 =w= derp. Recently though, I read that it is called 'smiling eyes' in Japan and that it is very much-wanted there now! Funny, I thought I would always be the only one =^.^=

Thanks for reading!

Volume UP !

Soo, I haven't made an update for a while and that is because I've been superbusy and well... also because of a little lack of inspiration and confidence.. but I'm getting back on track! :>

So the other day I just made this, for me, huuge discovery! Which I am sure everybody knows by now but it sure took me by surprise!

I've been using this so called volume powder for a while, since I'm a bit obsessed with volume in my hair, and I really liked the results! My hair did get volume and it could stay like that for days ... except the fact that it made my hair feel rough and almost dirty looking so it forced me to wash it more often than I want to..it also left this weird unpleasant smell you had to get used to, not to mention how hard it was to brush with it in and your hair needs to be brushed to look and feel it's best, right?

 Volume Powder:
made to put around scalp for volume and mattification of the hair.

Despite knowing this, I went to the store to buy some more of this powder and the seller responsed with:

- Ah, yes I will show you were our dry shampoos are ~
- ... No, I have that already, I need volume powder.
- Oh, that's the same thing.
- ... eh? o.o;

So uh, apparently, nowadays, people use dry shampoo instead of the volume powder and it works just fine.
I left the store in a very sceptical mode but also eager to try this out with the product that's been standing on my shelf for a year...

Dry shampoo:
Makes the hair look washed and can give volume when spraying around scalp.

This is the kind I'm using and I tried it for volume right away. Guess what.
It works, and I will post a picture of me after I've used it too as soon as I can.

I know this might be old news for a lot of people but for me it's a totally different story!
Now I have a whole bottle of volumy goodness to use up!

I really like this because:
  • This doesn't smell!
  • It doesn't leave your hair in a horrible rough-looking state the day after
  • It won't be in the way of your brush and wont damage your hair as much as hairspray
  • It doesn't leave your hands all smelly and powdery
  • Instead of making your hair looking dirty it leaves it looking like you just washed it!

The sales-person in the butique showed me the ones they were selling (and they were now selling them mainly for volume-cause and stopped selling the powder!), and she told me they had alternatives for
  • different haircolors
  • different smells desired
  • and for those who wants extra extra volume!

I don't even know which one I'll go for when I've used up mine but it will probably be one of the ones she showed me...  *picture below*

Batiste dry shampoo: three of the many alternatives,
with different smells, for different haircolors and amount of volume!

I hope this is news for at least some people out there and that this has made you as excited as it made me! ^.^ Volume UP!
